History: They say that water has a memory, that once it has held a certain form, it can regain that form at will. Based on this amazing phenomenon, the powerful hydromancer Glix founded the Archive of Waters, an outpost dedicated to studying and cataloging the memories of water. And maybe even extracting the origins of the material world itself.

While his contemporaries called him mad, Glix believed that the waters of the world all flowed from one permanent eternal source that he called ‘The Font.’ So great was his conviction that the water wizard spent his life searching for that mythical headwater, eventually disappearing beneath the surface of the world to chase his theory. Miraculously, he finally found the eternal source deep within a treacherous mountain cave system. It was there that he established the Archive of Waters.

In the damp shadows of his mountain complex, Glix infused the pure headwaters of The Font with medicines and diseases, discovering a process to make regular water resume those compositions on command. He learned to listen to the water, pulling from it strange new material formulations that had long been lost to the world, liquids that could turn flesh to stone, and cocktails that sparked miraculous evolutions. He learned the secret histories of lands all across the world, studying sediment, chemicals, and humours of the water to relive history itself.

Just at the end of his life, Glix finally unlocked the final memory, The Water of Life, an incredible liquid that could give true life to any object, person, or other construct. Rather than drink the water himself to prolong his own life, Glix feared the potential of his discovery, locking it away in the most secure chamber of the Archive.

With his death, the Archive of Waters fell from memory and is now only inhabited by the deathless creations of his experiments, hyper-evolved bat chimera and deadly water wyrds animated by ancient memories of humanity's cruelty. These creations, Glix’s Children, act as guardians of The Font, making sure that the life-giving source of primal liquid is not poisoned and its memories are left intact.
