Hidden or Lost?: ‘On The Move, Moonrise’

History: ‘Rev your engines and open your Jupiter Eye, my Hungry Ones! The Caravan of the Free is coming! Join us, and burn away the world’s lies on our righteous ride to the Her-Mind!’
The roving commune of bohemian debauchery, fringe esoterica, and fortean cults known as the Caravan of the Free was started by the mysterious figure known only as Colonel Bog Tucker. No one is positive where Tucker came from, but he began preaching his strange sermons to long haul drivers over the CB channels in the mid-1980s, talking with lost and lonely souls about ley lines, society’s lies, and the angels trapped just beyond the veil of mortal space. Eventually the Colonel, called so thanks to the tattered and faded military dress he always wore, began gathering like-minded souls for debauched gatherings, meeting at seedy rest stops and performing miracles over campfires.
By the 1990s, The Caravan of the Free was formed, a rolling carnival church made of an ever-changing phalanx of rogue 18-wheelers, custom vans, and ramshackle RVs. The Caravan traveled the backroads and hidden routes of the U.S., spreading the word of Colonel Bog’s quest to find the Holy Mountain. Bog claimed it was a point of metaphysical weakness at which he could summon the Her-Mind, an angelic entity that guided him with quests and secret truths.
The Caravan would often make stops to hold grand bacchanals celebrating the mysterious Her-Mind with joy and filth. Some would enter the rocking, reeking trailers, and come out with visions and powers. Others seemed to just disappear. In truth, many were sacrificed, silenced, or consumed to feed The Free.
Over the decades Bog’s congregation continued to grow, promising New Age freedom and astrological enlightenment, even transcendence at the Holy Mountain. During their riotous gatherings they would target the weak, lonely, and lost from every community they touched to grow their ranks.
Today the Caravan contains over a dozen loyal vehicles, each one housing some terrible new facet of Bogs’ obsession. The Free are a motley congregation comprised of everyone from Flat Earthers and UFO truthers to cannibals, kaos witches, and Tantric serial killers. All in thrall to Bog, who now literally floats among his disciples, granting small miracles to the most loyal, cruel, and ‘free.’
After decades of searching, the Caravan seems closer than ever to finding the Holy Mountain and releasing the Her-Mind, or whatever eldritch power truly speaks through Bog.
