Hidden or Lost?: Hidden

History: A short distance out from the Coast of Shivers, hidden among a dense cloud of uncannily still mist, there is a verdant green spit of land that seems to reside within the only rays of sunlight that can penetrate the fog. Standing tall atop this small island is the waystation for fallen angels known as Lighthouse Z’Nack.
Almost 200 years ago the Coast of Shivers was a bustling hub of trade and travel, all made possible by Lighthouse Z’Nack’s guiding light, the powerful beam cutting through the icy mists with hopeful intensity. But one day, the light went out. Sitting as it does among a maze of sharp rocks and jagged bergs, only the bravest sailors dared make the journey to check on the lighthouse, and those who did rarely returned. Without the beacon’s light, the villages on the coast died out, crumbling into the cursed ruins and blighted slums that are all which remains today.
Then the beacon seemed to return, if fleetingly. Those who still haunted the Coast of Shivers claimed to catch the light glowing behind the endless fog, intermittently shining as bright as ever, before once again going dark. But the lighthouse’s fate remained a mystery to most.
In truth the beacon of Lighthouse Z’Nack had been destroyed during a clash between an angel named Ozmodius of the High Heavens, and a dark prince of the Cold Seas. While Ozmodius prevailed, its wings were torn off, and the original lighthouse lantern was destroyed. Trapped on the mortal plane, the angel fashioned its wings into a huge gem of pure Elysian energy in an effort to create a gate back to the Holy City. Unfortunately, Ozmodius found that ironically without its wings it could no longer enter the heavenly gate it had created.
Accepting its fate, Ozmodius installed the gem as a new beacon to other holy beings that they might use its bridge to return home to the Holy City. As a side-effect, the gem’s life-giving aura caused the island to explode with life, becoming an overgrown oasis. Still, in revenge for the murder of their prince, a coven of depthags cursed the lighthouse to forever be hidden by thick, impenetrable mist.
Still, the occasional archon, cherub, or ascended paladin will find their way to Lighthouse Z’Nack to exchange rare artifacts with fallen Ozmodius and use the singular lighthouse to travel to the High Heavens.
