Hidden or Lost?: Hidden

History: The world of spycraft in the 1960s was a playground of psychedelic espionage, bizarre mind games, and miraculous innovation. One of the more incredible tools invented during the era, dreamt up by the international terror cabal, LYNX, was the White Space Generator. This insane creation opened a portal to a seemingly endless ‘no-space,’ a kind of backside to the paper reality is drawn on. It was a blank expanse from which no sound or transmission could escape. The perfect site for a secret lair like the Orbis Obscuris.
The Orbis Obscuris was LYNX’s most secret outpost. A group of free-floating chrome orbs of various sizes, each containing a chamber or chambers dedicated to the organization’s plans for remaking the world order. In that null space the orbs could be piloted independently or join together in cooperative clusters. One ‘orbis’ might hold a database of missile codes, while another might serve as a diabolical torture chamber. Among the glistening spheres was a Central Orbis where the shadowy masterminds behind LYNX, a group known as the Phantom Kings, could meet in secret, each projecting a silhouette from the safety of a personal orbis.
The unconventional base became the perfect staging grounds for LYNX’s plans for global control, but it also became something of an obsession for superspy Alan Smitten, LYNX’s frequent nemesis. Smitten had made a career of foiling LYNX’s schemes with last minute feats of derring do, but he knew that the key to stopping LYNX once and for and for all lay in destroying the Orbis Obscuris. However Smitten never got to set foot inside the enigmatic base.
During what would be his final conflict with LYNX, Smitten mistakenly destroyed the White Space Generator, cutting the Orbis Obscuris off from our dimension. At the time, all of the LYNX agents had been evacuated from the Orbis to help combat Smitten, leaving an empty, perfectly preserved base on the wrong side of reality.
Well, almost empty. A single LYNX agent named Kim Fellows, who had been on a long range mission to find the edges of white space (he didn't), had also become trapped with the Orbis. He returned from his mission to an empty base, and has continued to roam the station, keeping it in working order ever since. He is simply waiting for the day the Phantom Kings return, slowly going insane in his solitude.
Outside null space, LYNX’s war is long over, and the Orbis Obscuris has become just another legend that spies share over vodka. A mythic superspy base full of riches, weapons, and 60s furniture.
