Hidden or Lost?: Always Moving From Town to Town

History: Come on, come on! For one night only, the Living Library is open for all to see! This one-of-a-kind, movable menagerie features creatures from far off lands and whispered myths, but watch your fingers, they still bite.

Founded by the far-traveled fallen angel, Lyllym, the Living Library has scoured every realm of creation, collecting rare and incredible species to add to her collection, all magically contained within her ramshackle caravan wagon. With its unbelievable collection of specimens, the Living Library holds a number of exhibits to explore, each more unbelievable than the last, all arrayed throughout the caravan’s seemingly endless halls.

Maybe the most normal portion of the collection is the large zoo area known as Nature’s Unknowns. It is here that Lyllym keeps her countless specimens of animals, monsters, and otherwise wild beasts. Here you can find anything from massive brown bears to frighteningly, quick sandhorses to grave centipedes. Many are allowed to live in the large communal habitat, while other, more dangerous beasts are kept in solitary prisons mocked up to look like their natural environments. It is said that there is at least one specimen of every creature in existence somewhere in the library’s zoo.

Further on are more esoteric wings such as the Fey Mound, an earthen hill that contains specimens and species ranging from fairy princes to curse trees to members of the Faceless Court. There is the Cemetery Sprawl, where undead specimens are kept, including ghouls and ghosts, skeletal titans and immortal vampires. Or there's the Traveler’s Hall, which is filled with beings from beyond the material plane who have been ripped from their dimension and caged in the library, including astral parasites and demon pirates of the Aether-In-The-Cracks.

Then there is Lyllym herself, a mysterious creature of untold power. According to the whispers left in the wake of the Living Library’s passing, Lyllym fell from the heavens and is obsessed with collecting and cataloging every unique creature under creation in order to become more all-knowing than the creator itself. Whatever her true mission, Lyllym’s Living Library continues to wander the land, taking on new specimens, whether they want to go or not.
