History: Becoming a were-creature can be a frightening experience. Who can you turn to and how do you protect your family and friends during your beasting hours? If you're lucky you'll find your way to Moonchange Kennels and Boarding, the secret safe house for were-folk of every stripe, scale, and feather.

From the outside, Moonchange Kennels appears to be an upscale pet daycare, but in the abandoned subway tunnels and caverns beneath, there is a secret sanctuary where people can come to be caged during their beasting hours, report newly cursed moonforms, or even be relocated to a location safe from hunters and rival creatures.

Moonchange was established by a father named Arthur Moore who lost his first son to a moonform while on a tropical vacation. While on their trip, Moore’s son Sam was bitten by a strange river fish, and while they thought nothing of it at the time, during the first full moon upon their return the young boy transformed. His human skin sloughed off into a bloodless pile revealing a monstrous toothed eel creature. Thrashing violently for air, Arthur and his wife Samantha wrestled the beast into a tub full of water, but in the process Samantha was fatally wounded. Thinking he had lost all, Arthur killed the eel-thing, but when the boy’s lifeless body shifted back to its human form, Arthur realized what he had done.

Arthur became a drifter, seeking out other moonforms trying to understand what had happened to his son, hoping more than a little that his search would lead to his own death. Eventually, he met a were-crow named Slick, who saved him from a gang of moonform that weren’t pleased with his inquiries.

With Slick’s help, Arthur was able to learn all about the world of the Change. Realizing that he couldn't cure the cursed, he found new purpose in treating them and giving them a place they could be safe, even from themselves. And Moonchange Kennels was born.

In a decade of existence, Arthur and Slick have expanded their operation to include space for a wide variety of The Cursed, from aquatic moonforms to insectile were-creatures. The Cursed come to them from across the globe, and Moonchange Kennels has even begun to act as a sort of repository and research hub surrounding the moonform curse. Arthur, Slick, and others who have joined their cause have managed to discover evidence of the invisible web of energy connecting all creatures, and more alarmingly, linking them all to an enigmatic presence sleeping within the moon.
